Hide your fleet, search the other sea and sink every opposing ship.

7 ×Any planks
1 ×Blue wool
How to play
Section titled “How to play”Open the fitted board to make your moves. How to play in the side tray gives you the same lessons with illustrations inside the game.
Sea Battle goal
Section titled “Sea Battle goal”
Find and sink all five hidden enemy ships.

You fire one shot each turn. The first player to sink the whole fleet wins.
Place the fleet
Section titled “Place the fleet”
Ships go horizontally or vertically; never diagonally or overlapping.

Place every ship so each square fits inside the grid and no ship shares a square.
Choose a target
Section titled “Choose a target”
Click one square on the target grid; classic play uses one shot per turn.

The game marks hit or miss, then passes the turn. A hit does not earn an extra shot.
Mark hit or miss
Section titled “Mark hit or miss”
A pale marker means the shot missed. That square has no ship.

A red marker means a hit. Search nearby for the rest of that ship.
Ships stay hidden
Section titled “Ships stay hidden”
Your own board shows your ships and the shots fired at them.

The target board shows confirmed hits and misses. Unhit enemy ship squares stay hidden.
Sink a ship
Section titled “Sink a ship”
This three-square ship has two hits. One more hit will sink it.

A ship sinks when every square it covers is hit. Keep searching for the rest of the fleet.
Win the battle
Section titled “Win the battle”
Sink every ship in the enemy fleet before your fleet is sunk.

The game ends as soon as one player has no ships remaining.
Rules in more detail
Section titled “Rules in more detail”Fleet and shot information
Section titled “Fleet and shot information”The ten-by-ten sea holds ships of lengths five, four, three, three and two. Turns use one shot at a time, rather than one shot per surviving ship. A square already fired on cannot be chosen again. Opposing unhit ship positions remain concealed; use the visible hit, miss and sunk information to plan your next shot.
Keep playing
Section titled “Keep playing”Use Rematch after the result to play again. To pause an unfinished match, the table owner can remove and keep its board.
